Smiling Faces, Smiling Faces…

Smiling Faces…They don’t tell the truth”

It’s a classic song from the 70’s.  If you haven’t heard it, check it out.. (I think it’s the “Temptations” that recorded it.)

I heard it the other day, and I thought of the the internet…

As my Facebook and Tweeter accounts continue to grow..  I see more and more “smiling faces”.

Everyone has a smiling face on the net…  Because we all know that you can attract more people with a smile than a frown.  And yet we know that not all of these smiling faces are really out there looking out for your best interest.

A lot of those smiling faces are hiding the fact that the people are desporate for you to help them..  save them, by joining thier company.

“Smiling faces, sometimes, Pretend to be your friend.”

I think it’s funny how people want to be my friend on facebook (TeachtoFreedom) send me a message, and try to start a conversation.  But they want to drive the conversation to their “opportuity” or “business”.  They have no interest in me.  I am sure that you have experienced the same. They just want to “pitch me”.

I find that you can get large “crowd” with facebook and tweeter and all the rest.  But it’s hard to cut thru to an audience.Donkey

Sometimes I feel like I am standing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in DC, and the crowd goes all the way back to the Washington Monument.  Wall to wall people, it’s a huge, maybe record crowd, but no one is listening.  Instead they are all like the “Donkey” in “Shrek”  jumping up and down, yelling…  “Pick Me, Pick Me!”

Be careful out there.  There are a lot of people making promises. Make sure they can back up.  If they promise to be a mentor…  make sure they have built a business before.  (A successful business…)

Have a fantastic day.  Make the best of it, and take a single step forward, to make yourself a better person.
